Disc Design Contest

Hot on the heels of the t-shirt design contest, we're also going to hold a contest to design a disc for Kingston Ultimate. The discs will be manufactured by Discraft, and submissions should follow the guidelines listed on their web site.
Other considerations:
- the design should somehow represent Kingston Ultimate, and likely should include the words "Kingston Ultimate"
- the design shouldn't be time-sensitive (e.g., shouldn't have the year "2006" incorporated into it) so that we can continue to offer them over several years
The prize for the winning design is yet to be determined, but we'll come up with something muy bueno. At the very least it will include a couple of free discs and eternal glory.
Email your submissions to info@kingstonultimate.ca, or give them to Joel directly. The closing date for submissions is registration, May 17.

T-shirt Design Contest

Hi Everyone,
This year we're going to run a t-shirt design contest, read on if you are interested
the design is for the front of the T-shirt only and must meet the following criteria:
- 1 colour design for front of all shirt
- all submissions MUST be Black and White (no grey) for the purpose of creating silk screens
- drawings must be scanned in Black and White at 300dpi, saved as a high resolution JPEG.
- computer-generated designs must be in 300 dpi resolution or preferably in vector format - Adobe Illustrator CS, Corel 8, or .eps format. Please save all of your fonts as outlines.

Registration for 2006 is Open

Summer league takes place on Wednesday nights at St. Lawrence College, and possibly other fields near downtown Kingston. Games are between 5:30 and 8:15pm.
Registration for 2006 is open now, and will continue until May 8. On May 17 at 8pm everyone who has registered should plan to come to the Elixir to pay their money, receive their shirt and their Elixir card (more on that below), and enjoy a free barbeque. After that, registration may reopen to individuals if there are spots to fill.
The cost for the season is $60 per player. This includes fifteen games, insurance, a t-shirt (while supplies last), and an Elixir card that gets you a free barbeque at the Elixir each Wednesday night.
New this year: In order to register this year, you must accept a waiver. In order to make sure that each player accepts the waiver his or herself, we now require a unique, valid email address as part of the registration process. Individuals who do not register themselves will receive an email containing instructions for accepting the waiver. Everyone who plays must accept the waiver.

New Forum

The forum has reopened. It's not the same software that we were using before, so previous posts are all gone, and everyone will need to register anew in order to use it.
It might be possible for me to rescue some of the posts that were made last year. If you think you said something really incisively witty, so witty so that it's worth my having to slog through multi-thousand-line text files to find it, let me know and I'll see what I can do about bringing it back to life.

Pictures

I finally got around to adding pictures to the site. They're all from last year, though.
If you have any good pictures, we're always looking for new ones (send them to noah@kingstonultimate.ca). If you want to send some pics at this point, since we've already got a few, I'd prefer if you'd pick out the best two or three that you have and just send those. I can't guarantee that we'll use all the pictures we get, but we'll do what we can.
If we have enough good pictures, we'll probably look at putting up a photo gallery at some point.
