Pick Up Games

given the long weekend, pick up will be moved to Monday at 3pm at McCullough Park (see the fields link for a map)
after the 20th pick up will shift to St Lawrence (fenced in fields) on Monday and Friday nights at 6pm
keep in mind if there is heavy rain, pick up will be canceled

Registration for summer league 2008 is open now. In order to register, you must accept a waiver and pay the $80 registration fee via PayPal (you don't need a PayPal account, a credit card will do.)

Hey Everyone,
Gender Blender is heading into it's twelveth glorious year of top notch ultimate, amazing outdoor fun, crazy activity, awesome food and of course... blenderific partying amongst the genders.
If you're never been to Gender Blender, simply ask around. You'll be told stories of a weekend so fantastic, it is almost mythical. Crazy all-night parties where people hand you drinks just because you ask! Grass greener than any seen on a city field. Discs that fly the length of the field to the receivers hands, practically on their own! Cowboys and nurses, Tim Hortons and lingerie, Drinko and Mini-golf! All-star games and Talent shows, and singing to Jon Bon Jovi at the top of your lungs. Wandering back to your tent at 4am in the morning only to get up to the smell of bacon from Larry's trailer park. Camping and swimming, awesome food, runaway gnomes, tough D and layouts, more teams than at any tourney outside of Nationals!
And it's all true.
So come one, come all... get a team together, submit an amazing bid to get in and head to the promised land in Fergus Ontario this June.

Winter League
schedule update

sorry to be so late with this, the math was excruciating - in any case here's the schedule for the Semi Finals this Sunday:
4 - 5:15pm: Green vs Red (Semi 1)
5:15 - 6:30pm: White vs Blue (Semi 2)
also, I've been informed by the facility that for the April 6th game they need to bump our starting time to 6pm (sorry for any inconvenience), however they are giving us a bit of extra time - so here's how it will break down:
6-7:30pm: Winner of Semi 1 vs Winner of Semi 2 (Finals)
7:30-9pm: loser of Semi 1 vs loser of Semi 2 (consolation round)

Summer League 2008

On line registration for summer league will begin Monday, April 7 and end at midnight Wednesday, April 30. You will be able to sign up as a full team (see below), a group of players or as an individual (there will be more information about this as you go through the registration process)
This year we will probably be moving to an on line payment system - this means that everyone who registers will have to have a distinct email address - cost for the summer is $80/person - included in this fee is a team t-shirt, a membership to ODSA (which also includes insurance as well as nation wide discounts to hotels etc..), not to mention complimentary BBQ dinners after games at The Elixir
Because of the online system, the way in which Captains register teams will be a little different from previous years - when you register you can opt to be a Captain - you will then be prompted for some extra information - players can then request to be on your team when they register and/or you can recruit available players to be on your team (there is no team fee, but there will be a $50 deposit that captains will have to pay to receive cones - this is returned at the end of the season when you return the cones)
Teams must have a minimum of 14 people on them with a minimum of 6 men and 6 women - there are 7 players on the field with the gender ratio being 4:3 (with receiving line calling whether it's 4 men: 3 women, or 4 women: 3 men)
the league will run Wednesday evenings from May 21 - Aug 27, 2008 with two time slots 5:30-6:50; 6:55-8:15 - depending on field space I may have to cap the league at 32 teams

the league will run on Sundays from 4pm-6:30pm - this time will be divided into 2 time slots, 4pm-5:15 and 5:15-6:30 - please be aware that you may have to play in either time slot throughout the season
