Pick Up Ulti

Starting Sunday, September 1 and for the remainder of the fall season, pick up ultimate will be at Caton field at 3pm on Sundays.
Everyone is welcome to play in pick up games even if you are not part of the Kingston Ultimate league

I know it is wet out, but since the season is only 6 games and we have already had to cancel one game, I am not going to cancel tonight.

Junior League - Update

We have changed the registration process so that it is hosted via the Kingston Ultimate site. If you have already registered with ODSA there is no need to register again.
We have also extended the deadline to register until May 17.
Kingston Ultimate will be running a junior league (ages 11-14) on Monday evenings from 5:30pm-7pm at Queen's University Nixon fields. Registration is open until May 13, but we will be capping the number of players at 60.
The cost of the league is $40/person and includes a T-shirt, membership to ODSA, and insurance. All games will be supervised by members of Kingston Ultimate as well as some local school teachers/coaches. Each session will start with a clinic teaching ultimate skills (eg. throwing, drills, strategy), which will be followed up with a game.

Ultimate Provincials

It's looking like the Ultimate Provincial Tournament (to qualify for Nationals) will be held in Kingston this summer from July 12-14. Kingston Ultimate is partnering up with the City of Kingston and ODSA to help put on this event.
We need your help! If you have experience in running tournaments and have an interest in being the Tournament Director, please let me know as soon as possible. This could be a solo or shared position.
We will also be looking for volunteers to help with things like score keeping, setting up the fields, and other area to assist in the smooth running of the tournament.

Ultimate Coaching - Sunday, May 26

The KUL & ODSA are proud to co-present the National Coaching Certification Program Community Inittation Ultimate Certification clinic at QECVI on May 26th, 2013.
The morning session will be held in a classroom (Room 204). This will cover topics such as practice planning, ethics in coaching, emergency aciton planning, and equipment usage, fit & safety.
The Afternoon session will be held in a double gym or on the outdoor field where we will go over techniques to teach the forehand and backhand throws as well as generic techniques on how to run drills.
We will then go over some drills that you can do with your participants when you are in a coaching setting.
Time permitting we will then have a "stop &go" scrimmage to explain various rule situations of the game as they present themself.
Please be sure to bring comfortable clothing for the afternoon session and a pen for the morning session.
The format of the course is focused on group discussion and learning through shared experience facilitated by the ODSA's Learning Facilitators.
The ODSA Learning Facilitator present will be Rachel Robichaud for the clinic on May 26th.
Included with your registration you will recieve a 175 gram Discraft Ultra Star courtesy of Discraft, a deck of Ulticards courtesy of Ulticards, an official ultimate rule book, an ultimate dvd and a binder with a coaching manual, tool kit and some reference material.
The cost is $100 for non members and $40 for members (if you signed up for the Kingston Ultimate Summer league, you are a member).
