UAP Coaching Conference

Free online sessions

Posted by Joel on February 9, 2021

Hey folks,
The Ultimate Athlete Project (UAP) just opened up registration for their online coaching conference. It’s geared to coaches but has a ton of great stuff for players too. Its FREE and you can watch each days videos for 24 hrs after the live session.

Lessons take place Feb 22-26 and they email you notifications every morning so you can pick which lessons you want to watch live or later.

Highly recommend. Our Junior Director Peter Galbraith has been doing it for 6 years and has rave reviews about this as a learning opportunity for both coaches and players alike.

As a bonus the UAP has given us permission to give out TWO free 1-yr memberships to the Coaching and Game IQ program ($230 USD normally). This has all of the sessions from each of the last 9 years as well as a bunch of very focused series.

Basically,
1) Email youth@kingstonulti.ca to express your interest in this.
2) Register for the conference (free)
3) Watch 2-3 or as many as you’d like of the videos during the conference (30-60mins each)
4) Join in on a debrief/discussion in the few days after (1× 30-60mins)
4) Get a chance at a one-year UAP membership.

KU doesn’t get anything for this in any way shape or form, but it does mean that two people in our community get the chance for an amazing connection to a great video series.

And here’s the link to the Coaching and Game IQ program, which I also recommend.

We look forward to connecting with you soon.

Update

Posted by Joel on February 3, 2021

I know people have been wondering about the potential for some sort of KU Winter League. I was really hoping to be able to put together some version of a league and have been in touch with the Sportsplex on and off since last September trying to make this work. However, given the current state of Covid-19 and the measures to combat it, an indoor season doesn’t look feasible.

I am hoping to run a spring league if restrictions allow for it and the community Covid-19 case numbers have been significantly reduced. If this happens, the league will be using the modified rules put in place last year and will also add the protocol of players wearing masks.

I’ll be posting more information about this late February. I’m open to suggestions and feedback about how to move forward with a spring league while putting best practices in place to minimize the risk of transmission of Covid-19.

Cheers, Joel
