Winter Leagues 2023 - Cancelled
Posted by Joel on January 31, 2023
I received an update from the Sportsplex and while they are starting the process of repairing the dome, they expect repairs will go into March (or longer). Unfortunately, at this point we will have to cancel our winter leagues. We’ve started the process of refunding everyone, so you should see this come through within the next few days.

Winter Programs - Update
Posted by Joel on January 12, 2023
I received another update from the Sportsplex and they say there was severe damage to the dome and it will be several weeks before it will be fixed.
Given that, I think it is unlikely any games will happen in January. If it seems likely that they will be able to get the dome up and running for February, then we'll look to either extend the season or go with a shorter season at a discounted rate.
If it doesn't seem likely that they will be able to get the repairs done in February then we will likely have to cancel the winter leagues and will issue full refunds.
If for some reason you would like to withdraw from the league now, please let me know and I will issue a refund.
I'll keep you posted as we get closer to the end of January or I get more details from the Sportsplex.

Winter Programs - Update
Posted by Joel on January 3, 2023
Unfortunately, the storm on Dec. 24 caused the Sportsplex dome to collapse. They are trying to get it up and running ASAP, but there is a chance that games will be delayed.
We will post updates as soon as we have more information.
As well, we are looking for more players for the Winter Hat League on Friday evenings. Registration has been extended to Jan. 9.
Lastly, we're hoping to get one more team for Winter 4v4 on Tuesday evenings. If you are interested in putting in a team but don't have enough players, we might be able to help round out your team. Please email joel@kingstonutil.ca to discuss further.

Winter Programs
Registration Open
Posted by Joel on November 29, 2022
Registration is now open for our two winter programs.
4v4 Co-ed League
All games will be on Tuesdays from 8-9:30pm at the 1000 Island Sportsplex from January 17 - March 28 (excluding Feb 21, March 14 & 21 - due to reading week and trade shows). There will be two 40 minute games each night with a short break between games.
The league will be capped at 6 teams (only one tier), but if it fills up and there is enough interest to justify booking a second field we may expand the league. Each team will need a minimum of 8 players (4 men / 4 women) with a maximum of 12 players. All games will be played with an even 2:2 gender ratio.
You can register as a captain, or if your captain has already registered you can select your team during registration.
Co-ed Hat League
This is a 7v7 Co-ed Hat League with all games taking place on Fridays from 8-9:30pm at the 1000 Islands Sportsplex from January 13 - March 31 (excluding Feb 24 & March 24). Players sign up as individuals and are randomly placed on teams.
To register for either league, please sign in or create an account at league.kingstonulti.ca

Rain Policy
Posted by Joel on June 1, 2022
When the weather is questionable please check the web site. I will post the official word by 4pm Wednesday to the web site, Facebook and Twitter. If you don't see a post by 4pm, then games are on as scheduled.
Please use common sense. If games are on and we get hit with a thunder storm, stop the game and use the Use the 30/30 rule: When lightning is observed, play stops and the time between the lightning and thunder is counted. When you count 30 seconds or fewer between lightning and thunder, leave the field and take the appropriate shelter IMMEDIATELY. Remain sheltered for 30 minutes after the last peal (or sound) of thunder.
Also, if the fields having standing water on them or are soggy and are likely to get damaged then stop the game.
