Local 613 - Tryouts 2019
Posted by Joel on March 22, 2019
Local 613 AND Local YGK are back for another awesome summer. Local 613 has represented Kingston provincially, nationally, and internationally since 2013, consistently being one of the top teams in Ontario. Our development team Local YGK has had two seasons under their belt and continues to offer a great opportunity for Kingstonians to better learn the game and get a taste for competition at some great tournaments.
FOLLOW THIS LINK TO THE TRYOUT FORM
For more details about our summer, just keep reading.
Tryouts - $20 covers all tryouts: April 23 – 6:30-8:30PM, April 28 – 1:00-3:00PM, April 30 – 6:30-8:30PM ( Team selection to occur afterwards). All tryouts will be held at Nixon Field on Queen's campus. Tuesdays 6:30-8:30 will be our regular practice time with May 7th being the first team practice. We will be attending TUF May 11,12 as a split roster meaning Local 613-YGK mixed together. TUF is a fun tournament and an opportunity for all our athletes to play together and make sure we have a cohesive program.
Local 613
Team Philosophy - Focused. Fun. Competitive. Top 4 in Ontario. Top 8 in Canada.
Our practice time is limited so we will maintain focus and respect that for 2 hours every Tuesday. Everyone is there to put in work and improve together. Frisbee is fun, let's make sure it stays that way by enjoying each other's company, and respecting each other as players and people. There’s enough competitiveness amongst our athletes that we know that when the chips are down everyone will perform their best. Everyone is playing Tuesdays and Wednesdays (Kingston mix league night) already, and we trust you'll get another session in per week playing, throwing, or otherwise getting your body ready to compete. Team Selection 10-12 athletes per gender Nationals is mandatory - the goal of performing at our best at Nationals means that only athletes who can attend Nationals will be offered a spot on 613.
Tournaments:
Mixed Eastern's - June 1-2 Devens, Massachussets (to be confirmed based on interest)
Comedy of Errors - June 29-30 Montreal
Regionals - July 6-7 Carleton Place
No Borders - July 20-21 Manotick
Nationals - Aug 22-25 Brampton
Local YGK
Team Philosophy - Focused. Fun. Learn how to play and compete at the next level. Practices run side by side with 613 and there will be lots of opportunities to learn from coaches, and other competitive athletes.
Team Selection - We are looking for athletes that can make a commitment to regular practices, a few tournaments, and a desire to push themselves.
Tournaments: Northern Flights June 15-16 North Bay (to be confirmed based on interest), Regionals July 6-7 Carleton Place, & NoBorders July 20-21 Carleton Place.

Spring League 2019
Posted by Joel on February 25, 2019
Registration is open now for Spring League 2019.
We're still firming things up, but games will most likely be in two time slots (6-7:25pm and 7:30-9pm)on Wednesday evenings from April 3 - May 15. As per normal the Spring League will be a hat league (players placed randomly on teams) and the cost will be $50.
Registration is scheduled to close Saturday March 30, 2019 at 11:00pm, however this league accepts a maximum of 120 players and registration may close sooner if that number is reached.
If you've registered for Kingston Ultimate leagues in the past, you'll notice that the process has changed. The most significant difference is that you'll have to create an account and a profile before you're able to register—this is the first step in the process of revamping all of our league management to make it more useful, robust, and user-friendly. The good news is that you'll only have to create your account and profile once—when it comes time to register for leagues in the future you'll be able to do so without having to fill out all your information again. Once you have an account simply log in and you'll see the link to register for Spring League in your Dashboard.
If you have already created a league account log in and you'll see the option to register for Spring League.
The new registration system is a work-in-progress, so if you run into any problems, please don't hesitate to let us know.

Snowplate
Ultimate Tournament March 2/3
Posted by Joel on February 6, 2019
Sudbury Ultimate Club here, reaching out to you about our annual outdoor winter tournament - Snowplate!
For over 20 years, we have hosted this tournament here in Sudbury. For anyone who has played this tournament or know someone who has, they can attest, it's a blast! We're not biased! This year the tournament is schedule for March 2 and 3, 2019.
Every year we have a few local teams join, as well as several out of town teams. In the past, we have had teams from North Bay, Kitchener, Toronto, Timmins and Belleville. If you have joined us before, we would love to see you again. If you've never been, we would love to meet you.
The weather this season has been a perfect setup so far; we have about 1m of snow currently on the ground, with several more snowfalls expected before March.
Its a team registration, but we encourage individuals or small groups of people to reach out to us to hook them up with a team.
Please don't be shy with any questions, comments, inquiries, registrations! Hit us up at sudburyultimate@gmail.com, or on Facebook. We would love to hear from you!
